Seventeen-year-old Wang Haoxi, also known as Simon Wang, was spotted training in Beijing on Friday. Wang made history on June 29 by being selected 33rd overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2025 NHL Draft, becoming the highest-drafted Chinese player in NHL history. The 6-foot-6, 222-pound defenseman was born in Beijing on July 27, 2007. He moved to Canada at age of 12 to pursue his hockey dream. In February 2024, he represented Beijing at China’s 14th National Winter Games, where he helped his team clinch gold in the youth division with an undefeated record. (Photos: Li Hao/GT)
